Lassen Volcanic National Park – Journey 2

My second trip to Lassen Volcanic NP was to the northwest corner at Butte Lake.  The trails were very moderate and made for a leisurely stroll that allowed me to take in the woodland views, abundant wildflower displays, and time among wildlife.  This trip did include a jump into rescue-mode after finding two backpacks destroyed by bear, people gone, and a need to head out at night to find a ranger; this did come with a lovely march past the Cinder Cone, under a full moon so bright that I didn’t don my headlamp.  The backpackers were fine (enough), having run the full 6 miles out.
